“I Heard You Were Gone” —by SKParker
This watercolor painting by SKParker, completed in 2007, represents a unique artistic challenge. The artist deliberately selected a less attractive building from several digital photos, aiming to transform it through art. The goal was to infuse the scene with a spiritual ambiance; Thus, conveying a message of goodness and fondness. The result is a compelling piece that invites viewers to see a moment in time that brought others a sense of serenity and a positive calmness, This was voted “People’s Choice Award” when it was on display and was sold at that event. Giclee copies are available.
I am working on it all.
Rome was not paved with directions on the pavement. There are no easy arrows in life. Anything worth a fiddlers fart takes time, effort, concern, planning, and decisive moves. Some people can cast acquaintances aside while the road to their riches are garnished in selfish adulation, contributory flare, and fireworks. I set my sails after having been overseen and pushed to the back of the group for so long—and by so many. However, I admit I have chartered my own ship to be placed in docks that were less than friendly.
So it takes time to build a life of contentment. (And a half decent website as well.) All I can do is show what I have seen in my paintings and my illustrations. If they speak louder than I expect, it will be by their merit. I only held the paint brush, pencil or pen .
In the meantime…
